Reflect on 2024 to start 2025 with clarity and intention.

Now that December is here, we have a wonderful opportunity to reflect on this year as we prepare for 2025. In this letter, I am sharing a reflective process I’ve used for many years with my coaching clients, and in my own life, to bring insights and clarity as we close one chapter and step into the next.

More than just an email, this is an invitation to meaningful reflection. It might be helpful to save it for when you have some quiet time. Set aside an hour with your favourite drink and engage with the process at your own pace. Enjoy!

When I was a yoga teacher over a decade ago, I used to offer a New Year's Eve retreat on a floating platform on a lake in a beautiful national park in northern Thailand. Sounds idyllic, right? It was! The picture above is from that place.

Apart from the morning meditation and yoga practices, swimming in the lake, and the great food, the retreat’s main intention was to guide participants through a two-part process:

  • Looking back through the year coming to an end

  • Looking ahead to the year about to begin

Since then, this process has become an annual ritual of mine every December.

We begin with the look-back through 2024, which includes six steps:

1) Acknowledge, 2) Process, 3) Release, 4) Reaffirm, 5) Integrate, and 6) Celebrate.

Continue reading for more context and detailed instructions on each step. If you'd rather go straight to the questions, click the button below to access a Guidebook with only the reflective prompts:

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
